Premarital Abstinence Pledges Ineffective, Study Finds

Premarital abstinence pledges don't work according to study reported in last Monday's Washington Post:

Teenagers who pledge to remain virgins until marriage are just as likely to have premarital sex as those who do not promise abstinence and are significantly less likely to use condoms and other forms of birth control when they do, according to a study released today.

Gee... imagine that. Abstinence only programs don't work. Doesn't anyone remember what it was like to be a horny teenager when all you thought about was your boy/girlfriend and what you were going to do together in the back of the car Friday night?

I can't wait for the Obama administration and for real health education programs to come back.
